October News - Lake Desire Community

October 27 Updates

1. Roadside Cleanup thank you! – Thanks to Jerry Maw, Roger and Pat Burgess, Heather Smith, Diane Nichols, Roger Danneman, Judy Rohm, Tammie Cook and Lynn Jamison for picking up roadside trash! We really appreciate our community members who give of their time and efforts to pick up litter along our roads. The county was a bit delayed in picking up the trash this time around, our apologies for the pile that sat longer than it should. We are checking with the adopt-a-roads folks to make sure they can get to us more quickly next time. We will look forward to our next clean-up in May of next year. THANK YOU!!

2. Yearly print newsletter coming in January – We are looking for anyone who might like to help us contribute articles and design our upcoming print Lake Desire Newsletter in January. We typically start assembling articles, etc in December for mailing in January. This is the time of year we ask for memberships to be mailed in, and would welcome someone who might be interested in helping us coordinate the newsletter this year. Please contact staffordlkdesire@gmail.com if interested.

3. Next Lake Desire Community Meeting – Tuesday, November 19th at 7:00pm at the Community Clubhouse. Have any items for the agenda? Want to come meet your Board? Join us! We usually have treats. See you there!

1. Thank you for those who attended the Wine/Beer tasting fundraiser – A great big thank you to the wonderful group of neighbors and friends who came out to support the Lake Desire Community Club on September 21st at the Fairwood Wine Alley. A thank you, as well, goes to the Wine Alley for their support with these fundraisers. We suggest you go in and tell them thank you if you have need for fine wines and beer. Super news - we raised $170.00 to go towards our recent flooring update!

2. Roadside Cleanup this Saturday, October 12th at 9:00am – Please join us this Saturday morning at 9am when we fill King County bags with roadside trash. We will be meeting at the boat launch at 9:00am on Sat, Oct 12th for the fall cleanup. If you can’t join us on that day, feel free to pick up trash around the neighborhood that week/weekend with your own bags and leave it at the Lake Desire Clubhouse tree before the next Monday, October 15th. Thanks!
